Robert Allard has been named the Santa Clara County Trial Lawyer of the Year twice in three years (2007, 2009) and has developed a reputation for taking tough cases where insurance companies offer little or no money to an injured victim and for providing aggressive representation which generates just compensation for his clients. (CLICK HERE to view press release) . In a three year period from 2007-2009, Mr. Allard prevailed in seven (7) million dollar plus cases, including three which resulted in a jury verdict and another which resulted in an arbitration award.

In 2009 alone, Mr. Allard won four (4) cases which resulted in an award of well over one million dollars for his clients, each starting with little or no monetary offers.  For example, in a case tried before a Santa Clara County jury in January of 2009, Mr. Allard secured a verdict of $1.85 million for a carpenter who sustained a serious leg injury in a motor cycle/ big rig accident.  Prior to trial, the insurance company took a hard line in settlement, offering only $100,000.  The verdict therefore resulted in an award that was over 18 times the amount offered by the insurance company ( CLICK HERE to view press release).  This result was awarded Verdict of the Week by the major legal publication called Verdict Search of California ( CLICK HERE to view article).  In another matter, Mr. Allard obtained a $2.056 million arbitration award for a public school behavioral specialist who was seriously injured in a head-on car crash while traveling on a school field trip. Despite a clear case of liability, horrific injuries and hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical bills and lost wages, the school district's relief fund never offered a penny in settlement and resorted to fighting the victim every step of the way (CLICK HERE to view press release).  Finally, a $1.25 settlement was obtained for a nursing assistant who was involved in a 10 mph rear end accident despite the insurance company, after over three (3) years of litigation, fighting every step of the way based on extensive scientific literature which provided that no one could get seriously injured at such low speeds (CLICK HERE to view press release).

In February of 2010, a profile was written about Mr. Allard in a major legal publication called Plaintiff Magazine .  In addition to outlining his legal accomplishments, this article focused on Mr. Allard's goal of effecting social changes through litigation and how his own personal battle with an illness put into perspective his priorities as a lawyer and person.

For his outstanding legal work on behalf of his clients, Mr. Allard has been named one of the top 100 trial lawyers in the State of California by the American Trial Lawyers Association (see http://www.theatla.com/top-100-lawyers-california.html).  Also, Mr. Allard has been honored as a 2009 and 2010 Northern California "Super Lawyer", an award given to only the top 5% of all attorneys ( CLICK HERE to view Super Lawyer profile).  He further has received an AV rating, the very highest accolade for legal ability and ethical standards under the peer review system of Martindale-Hubbell, the national legal directory.  A national attorney peer review service entitled AVVO has given Mr. Allard a rating of 10/10- Superb ( CLICK HERE to view AVVO profile).  He has been accepted into the Million Dollar Advocates Forum which recognizes the top trial lawyers in America .  Fewer then 1% of U.S. Lawyers are members.

A California Assembly Resolution authored in 2007 by State Assembly Speaker Pro Temporer Sally J. Lieber states that Allard "represents the finest qualities of a trial lawyer and the legal profession and has made a lasting impression on those individuals with whom he has been associated". Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC) honored Mr. Allard in 2007 with an Award of Meritorious Service, "For fighting against injustice by providing outstanding legal representation and service on behalf of your client".

Mr. Allard has been practicing law in Santa Clara County since January of 1994. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1991, with a Bachelor of Arts degree. In 1994, Mr. Allard obtained his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of San Francisco . He has served as President for the Santa Clara County Trial Lawyers Association (2006) and, prior to that, served on its Board of Governors (2001-2005). He lectures in the area of civil litigation for seminars entitled "Personal Injury Settlements in California" and "How to Litigate Your First Civil Trial in California ."  He is a member of the following organizations:  American Trial Lawyers Association, Santa Clara County Trial Lawyers Association, Consumer Attorneys of California, American Association for Justice and the Santa Clara County Bar Association.  He also provides pro bono work for entities such as the Pro Bono Project in San Jose, California .

Mr. Allard, a third generation trial lawyer, tirelessly works for justice on behalf of his clients. His practice is focused exclusively on civil litigation, with an emphasis on personal injury, wrongful death and products liability. He is a devoted husband to his wife Niccole and father to Jacq, Shea, Caden and Ashton.
